How to choose

ACOTAR mixes romance, danger and sexual content, so decide how far you want to follow it. Throne of Glass, The Cruel Prince and Serpent & Dove are young adult and a good first step, though Serpent & Dove has more mature content than most. Fourth Wing and From Blood and Ash are for adults: Fourth Wing adds dragons, graphic violence and sex scenes, while From Blood and Ash is very sexual and violent, so check content notes first. Beauty is a gentle retelling of Beauty and the Beast, one of the fairy tales that inspired ACOTAR, and the one to pick for a younger reader. Several of these start series, so one favorite can lead to many more.
